Often without realizing it, we all use the radio spectrum in our everyday lives. The list of devices that use radio frequency emissions is long, and includes cell phones, Wi-Fi access points, automated toll systems, GPS navigation systems and television broadcast systems. Unintended radio frequency emissions also exist, such as microwave oven leakage, interference from computer systems, as well as poorly designed and maintained radio equipment. Without an orderly allocation of frequencies for each use, these systems would not work reliably and could jeopardize safety.
This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of the course materials.
