In typical machine design, we have several requirements for power transmission system and component design. As components are selected and sized, the design must be evaluated through iterations of loading, physical size, and final performance. The components are evaluated individually and as they function if the final assembly. Understanding the basic capacity and performance in the system is a critical requirement of anyone in the field of power transmission design. This course offers a detailed look at this process and presents an in depth review of the final factor of safety. These considerations are critical to many things that we design, whether or not we work in this specific environment.
This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of the course materials.
