This course will discuss several historic, riveting, and defining incidents in process safety. Beyond the obvious hazards, technology and equipment failures that led to them, it will illustrate how more effective practice of the management elements of process safety could have helped avoid or greatly mitigate these events. The course will introduce the science of process safety and how it differs from the traditionally understood personal safety. It will also provide an overview of the management elements of process safety. This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of the course materials.
