This course describes how to properly size the power conductors and associated equipment grounding conductor (collectively called the motor branch-circuit) to be run from a motor starter (typically in a motor control center) to a single motor in an indoor or outdoor installation. This course also attempts to explain why there are usually differences between the myriad motor branch-circuit conductor sizing tables that are available. The calculations and limiting factors are explained so that the Reader can create their own motor cable schedules based on any ambient temperature and conductor insulation type.
This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of the course materials.
