This 8-hour course covers the traditional lightning protection system installation requirements for ordinary structures, miscellaneous structures and special occupancies, heavy-duty stacks, structures containing flammable vapors, flammable gases, or liquids that can give off flammable vapors, structures housing explosive materials, wind turbines, watercraft, airfield lighting circuits, and solar arrays. The purpose of the course is to provide for the safeguarding of persons and property from hazards arising from exposure to lightning.
These provisions described in this course reflect a consensus of what is necessary to provide an acceptable degree of protection from the hazards addressed in this course. It will be necessary for the student to obtain a copy of NFPA 780-2020 Standard for the Installation of Lightning Protection Systems. This standard is intended to assist users in describing the required Installation requirements for lightning protection systems.
This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of the course materials.
