Mr. Brocksmith received a BS degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Southwestern Louisiana and a MS degree in Chemical Engineer from Louisiana State University. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in several states. He began his engineering career in 1978. Since then he has gained significant experience in many fields. He has worked as a production engineer, a maintenance engineer in the chemical industry. He has also worked in the manufacturing sector as a quality control manager were he implemented quality control measures converting manual operations to automatic operations.
For the past 21 years, he has worked for CDI Engineering as a process design engineer working with major refinery and chemical companies designing new facilities and upgrading existing ones.

In addition to his professional experience in the engineering field, Mr. Brocksmith lectures the Chemical Engineering students at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in process design, plant safety, transport phenomena.
