Mr. Timpe is a graduate of both Lafayette College in Easton, PA and Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA. Mr. Timpe is a licensed Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania. Mr. Timpe started his engineering career in 1982 with AT&T designing test equipment for components that were used in the first fiber optic transatlantic cable. Since then he has gained significant experience in the characterization of virtually all fiber optic components. He has developed both proprietary fiber optic test systems used in-house, as well commercially available systems to test devices to I.E.E.E. Standards. He has surveyed systems to assure compliance with OSHA, and FDA laser safety standards. He has authored numerous technical reports and evaluations of equipment. His work has been published in several periodicals. Mr. Timpe is a member of Tau Beta Pi and Eta Kappa Nu.
